Houston authorities are currently piecing together the circumstances of a deadly collision that took place on North State Highway 6 yesterday afternoon. The incident, which occurred in the 2900 block of the bustling thoroughfare around 4:45 p.m., has claimed the life of a 67-year-old man, whose name has been withheld pending next-of-kin notification, as reported by the Houston Police Department.
The preliminary probe by HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant V. Vo and Officer F. Serna unveiled that the man was maneuvering a Nissan Frontier pickup northbound when he made a hazardous lane change. This ill-fated maneuver resulted in the truck slamming into the concrete wall barriers lining the highway.
"Paramedics transported the driver to Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased," according to the Houston Police Department's account. As the investigation continues, more details are expected to emerge in the coming days about what led to the fatal crash.
