An 88-year-old Franklin, Ohio, woman, Juanita Sebastian, was pronounced dead following a head-on collision in Warren County, according to WLWT. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports that the accident occurred on Dixie Highway, just south of Manchester Road, around 12:30 p.m. yesterday. Early findings suggest that Sebastian, who was driving a 2005 Buick LaCrosse, inexplicably veered left of center while traveling northeast before colliding head-on with a 2015 Kia Sedona.
Immediately after the crash, all involved were swiftly transported to local hospitals. Sebastian did not survive the injuries and was declared deceased after being taken to Atrium Medical Center. The occupants of the Kia suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The severity of their conditions was not detailed further, but they were both transported to Kettering Health Middletown for treatment, reported FOX19.
The collision has spurred a thorough investigation by the OSHP to unravel the circumstances that led Sebastian to cross into oncoming traffic. Adding to the complexity of the situation, WLWT mentions the assistance of various local agencies, including the Middletown Police Department, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Middletown Fire and EMS, the Joint Emergency Medical Services, and Sandy’s Towing, all of whom were at the scene of the incident.
Identified as the second driver was Beth Heizer, 60, who, along with her passenger, has managed to avoid life-threatening harm. Details of their identities and condition have been reported based on preliminary investigations by OSHP and relayed by WBNS. The OSHP has not released any more specifics regarding the cause of the crash as they continue to delve deeper into the investigation.
