Residents of the Villages of Cypress Lakes showed their vigilance when they contributed to the halting of a mail theft incident in their community. Yesterday morning, local deputies were dispatched to the 14800 block of Waverly Hill Lane after receiving reports of suspicious behavior around the community mailboxes. The attentive residents, spotting the unusual activity, were quick to alert the authorities, playing a critical role in what unfolded next.

Upon arrival at the scene, deputies encountered two males who appeared to be tampering with the mailboxes. The suspects, later identified as Raysean Cox and Craig Senegal, didn't have long before law enforcement interrupted their alleged scheme. Found with stolen identifying documents that were taken from a nearby resident's mailbox, the two were promptly taken into custody. As reported on Constable Mark Herman's Facebook page, the suspects' downfall was further cemented by the surveillance video capturing them rifling through the mailboxes.

The constable's post detailed the charges: "Raysean Cox and Craig Senegal were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information and Mail Theft." Although the information concerning their bond and court appearances was not available at the time of reporting, the constable's office assured that details would follow.

Encouraging residents to remain alert, Constable Herman's office also promotes their new mobile app, “C4 NOW,” designed to provide updates on crime, arrests, safety tips, as well as traffic accidents and road conditions.
