In a case of impaired driving that could have ended with dire consequences, the Alhambra Police Department recently took to its Facebook page to detail an incident where an inebriated driver collided with a power pole on Granada Ave. Police identified the driver as Wei Hung of Alhambra, who showed signs of intoxication, including slurred speech, difficulty maintaining balance, and a strong odor of alcohol. Officers said the vehicle found crashed into a power pole was the result of Hung’s reckless driving
Upon assessing Hung, officers carried out the necessary field sobriety tests, which he failed to perform adequately. This led to Hung being "arrested and booked at APD Jail for DUI," as noted in the Alhambra Police Department's Facebook post. The arrest emphasized the hazards that driving under the influence imposes on both the driver and the public.
" Plan ahead: designate a sober driver, use a rideshare service, or call a friend/family member. There’s never an excuse!" the Alhambra Police Department stated.
