Authorities in Anaheim are seeking public assistance in locating a suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision that claimed the life of a pedestrian earlier this month. The accident, which occurred on August 9 just before midnight, left a 58-year-old Stanton resident critically injured, and he tragically passed away days later on August 12, as per the information provided by the Anaheim Police Department.
The man was reportedly crossing Knott Avenue, just north of Orange Avenue, when he was hit by a red or maroon sedan. The driver, whose identity remains unknown, chose not to stop and instead fled the area. According to CBS News Los Angeles, surveillance camera footage from the vicinity has provided images of the suspect vehicle, which investigators have released in hopes of advancing the case.
While the formal identification process is ongoing, the coroner’s office has yet to release the victim's name.
