Last Saturday night, Fairfield was rattled by the sound of gunfire at a local gas station, which led to the arrest of a 34-year-old Antioch man. According to the Fairfield Police Department's social media post, officers rushed to Central Way around 8:30 pm after receiving reports of shots fired. Their quick response resulted in an arrest.
Witnesses at the scene shared with officers that an altercation between two individuals at a gas pump escalated, culminating in the man firing several shots into the air. Following the incident, the shooter was reported to have fled southbound. The department's swift intervention allowed officers to locate a man who matched the suspect’s description shortly afterward. Shell casings littering the parking lot bore mute testimony to the severity of the situation.
Alongside this find, another officer discovered an associated firearm, tucked away within the anonymity of the nearby bushes. According to their report, the suspect was booked into the County Jail.
