Heads up, parents and guardians of Duval School District kids: If your child is attending a non-Community Eligibility Provision (non-CEP) school, it's time to apply for free and reduced price meals for the upcoming school year. The district has made the 2025-26 applications accessible online in both English and Spanish. As a reminder, this is applicable solely to families whose children are enrolled in one of the 37 non-CEP schools and in need of assistance with school meal costs.
There is some temporary relief to ease into the school year, though. All students at these non-CEP schools will to be able to receive lunch on the house for the first 30 operating days of school or until a new meal eligibility determination kicks in — whichever occurs first. The district is not lagging on the paperwork side; they pledge to notify families of their meal eligibility status swiftly, aiming for a timeline within 10 business days after submitting the application. And don't worry about having to go digging for the results – they'll send eligibility updates directly via email to the primary custodian listed in the district’s records.
An important thing to note is that breakfast isn't part of this application hustle. Regardless of the school your kiddo attends, breakfast is gratis for every student. Now, if you're feeling a bit lost in the application process or have questions popping up, the district's got your back. The Food Service team is on standby at [email protected] to help you navigate through or answer any queries.
Just so you know which schools are requiring this bit of extra homework, here's the list of the non-CEP schools: Alden Road Exceptional Student Center, Alimacani Elementary, and the list fleets on, covering elementary to high schools, such as Atlantic Beach Elementary, Fletcher High, and Stanton High, to mention a few. If your school's on the list, don't delay in firing up that application. Full details can be scooped up directly from the horse’s mouth, as per the Duval County Public Schools announcement.
