
An early morning crash in Lake County has taken the life of an Astatula man, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol. The 51-year-old was involved in a single-vehicle accident that occurred around 1:17 a.m. today on County Road 450 near Babb Road, ClickOrlando detailed. The man's Ford F-150 failed to navigate a curve, which prompted the fatal departure from the roadway into the treeline, where the truck struck a tree, rotating to its demise.
According to the Leesburg-News, the driver, who was reportedly not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was partially ejected from the vehicle, a 2000 Ford F-250 pickup truck, which he was driving during the accident, which led to immediate pronouncement of death at the scene by authorities.
The FHP has stated that the crash is still under investigation as they seek to understand the circumstances leading up to the tragedy.
