Book lovers and bargain hunters alert: White Settlement Community Services has announced an upcoming Friends of the Library Book Sale, where thrifty bookworms can discover a multitude of reads at rock-bottom prices. This three-day event will kick off on Thursday, Sept 25, and runs through Saturday, Sept 27, with most items priced at 50 cents or less. It's the perfect opportunity to replenish your bookshelves without breaking the bank.
The sale will unfold in the Library Classroom from 10 am to 5 pm on Thursday and Friday, and from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday. According to a social media post by White Settlement Community Services, those who can't resist the allure of the written word can volunteer for the event as well, which not only supports the community but also grants them early access to the trove of books.
Diving into the stacks could reveal hidden gems ranging from classic literature to modern page-turners, children's stories to scholarly texts. It's an invitation for the community to come together; to hold, in their hands, stories and knowledge passed along in the form of pre-loved books. The event aims to foster a love for reading and perhaps, for a lucky few, introduce them to their next favorite book.
