Baldwin Beach visitors should note a temporary closure next week. A portion of the beach, locally known as Kapuka‘ulua, will be closed for tree stump removal on August 21-22. This notice is provided by the County of Maui to keep beachgoers informed and safe.
Coordination is underway behind the scenes, with the University of Hawai‘i Sea Grant College Program assigned to oversee the work. To separate the stump removal area from regular beach activities, access to that section will be restricted. The remainder of Baldwin Beach’s sandy areas and park facilities will remain open and unaffected. However, visitors should be prepared for possible changes to the schedule, as it is tentative and may be adjusted due to weather conditions.
