An 18-year-old from Blanchester is facing serious charges after a grand jury indictment involving allegations of rape and kidnapping of a minor. According to WLWT, Jagger Curts has been charged with two counts each of rape, kidnapping, and an additional count of pandering sexually-oriented material involving a juvenile or impaired person.
The charges suggest a disturbing scenario where Curts allegedly compelled a juvenile to submit through force or threat. All counts are further intensified by a firearm specification, inferring that Curts had a gun on him during the commission of these crimes. Curts was already in custody on unrelated charges when the indictment was filed, as highlighted by WCPO.
Police reports indicate that the indictment charges stem from an investigation that began in April this year. LOCAL12 reveals that Curts is accused of knowingly restraining the victim's liberty to engage in sexual activity, creating a situation that put the minor at substantial risk of serious physical harm.
After extradition from Warren County to the Clinton County jail, Curts will face the new set of charges. Past court records from Warren County also show that on April 30, Curts faced charges of improperly handling a firearm in a vehicle, with a capias being issued on May 16 due to his failure to be located at the time. The Blanchester Police have confirmed that Curts was apprehended for those charges by the end of May. The case continues to evolve as Curts prepares for court in Clinton County, shedding light on the severity of the alleged offenses.
