Blue Bell Ice Cream has initiated a voluntary recall for a limited quantity of its Moo-llennium Crunch Ice Cream. This particular batch was mistakenly packaged in Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough cartons but with Moo-llennium Crunch lids, leading to the potential presence of undeclared almond, walnut, and pecan. For those with allergies, this mix-up carries the risk of serious or potentially fatal allergic reactions.

The error was flagged by a Blue Bell employee who spotted the mislabeled half gallons while stocking shelves at a retail outlet. So far, no illnesses have been reported, and efforts have been made to swiftly contain the mix-up. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's alert, the affected ice cream can be identified by a code on the top of the half-gallon lid: 061027524, meant to help consumers quickly verify the product.

Blue Bell has distributed the recalled Moo-llennium Crunch half gallons across various states, including Alabama, Arkansas, and the Florida Panhandle. The geographical spread continues to cover parts of Georgia, Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Southwest Virginia, where it was dispensed through retail outlets.

The company is urging customers who have purchased the item in question to return it to the point of purchase for a full refund.
