Furthermore, officials are investigating whether this incident is connected to a presumed drowning that occurred over the weekend at the pier.
On Sunday, a distressing incident at Huntington Beach witnessed two brothers, 19-year-old Trent Sanchez and 22-year-old Austin Labbe from Akron, missing in the water around 530 p.m. Metroparks Police Chief Kelly Stillman noted that despite immediate response by rescue crews, the dire conditions prevented a major dive operation. Both FOX 8 and Cleveland 19 have reported that efforts have now transitioned to a recovery mission, with dive teams resuming their search Tuesday morning.
