On a routine patrol in Boston Common, officers from the Drug Control Unit of District A-1 apprehended Devyn Barbosa, 30, suspected of drug trafficking. According to a report by the Boston Police Department, officers noticed Barbosa allegedly sorting an unknown substance into a container.

Upon confrontation, the officers found a vape container on Barbosa's person. Inside a container, initially thought to conceal illegal drugs, a search led to the discovery of various narcotics. "Officers advised the suspect of the reason for the stop," says the BPD report, which turned out to yield a significant amount of illicit drugs.

The scene unravelled Saturday, August 23, leading to authorities seizing eighteen grams of crack cocaine, ten grams of fentanyl, and additional narcotics contained in fifty-four plastic bags of crack, twenty-five of fentanyl, and a single bag of crystal methamphetamine. The encounter also resulted in the confiscation of $175 from Barbosa's fanny pack.

Following the discoveries made by the officers on patrol, Barbosa now faces multiple charges related to drug trafficking. Charged with trafficking Class A and B substances and possession with intent to distribute Class B, "Barbosa was placed under arrest" and is slated for arraignment in Boston Municipal Court, as per details shared by the police department's announcement of the incident.
