Bostonians are set to enjoy a stretch of sunny skies and rising temperatures as we enter the first week of August, according to recent forecasts. The National Weather Service predicts a high near 84 degrees today, with calm winds turning southeast in the afternoon. The serene weather pattern continues with a low around 63 tonight and minimal wind, providing an optimal environment for evening outings in the city.
Tomorrow brings a touch of summer's sizzle, with temperatures pushing the mercury to a high near 89 degrees, reports the National Weather Service. Despite the expected warmth, a "comfortable" level of humidity is anticipated, making for a less oppressive heat. As the midweek approaches, while daytime highs stay consistent in the upper 70s to low 80s, a statement obtained by Boston 25 News highlights the low chance for "a spot shower, mainly across the interior, on Wednesday and Thursday."
The dry spell doesn't signal a drought, however, as conditions remain ripe for outdoor plans, from impromptu picnics in the Common to leisurely jaunts along the Charles. The weekday evenings are forecasted to echo the calm and clear nights of the weekend, with lows resting comfortably in the low 60s. Tuesday night looks to be partially obscured by a few clouds, but the light east wind keeping the air moving may just add a hint of dynamic to a mostly tranquil sky.
While much of the region enjoys clean air, an exception may be noticed northward where "skies may look a bit hazy at times," mainly due to "lingering wildfire smoke drifting in from Canada," according to Boston 25 News. Nevertheless, this atmospheric blemish is not expected to significantly affect local conditions, but rather present a veneer that contrasts the regular blue over Boston.
As we head towards the weekend, the pattern of sunny and warm days is seen to persist, with Friday promising a high near 81, and a lead-in to Saturday where the city basks under a high near 85. Whatever plans Bostonians may forge under these fair skies, the weather seems to be conspiring in their favor, providing ample opportunity to extract joy from these days of summer, unmarred by the severe storms that occasionally punctuate the season.
