Are you ready for a dino-mite time this Halloween? The Boulder County Sheriff's Office and Boulder County Coroner's Office are teaming up to host a Jurassic-themed Trunk or Treat event. Set to take place on Tuesday, October 14, this free community celebration promises to bring fun to families with a taste for adventure and an appetite for candy.
The event, announced on the county's website, is geared towards kids 12 and under who can experience the thrill of a haunted hallway and lay their hands on some sweets courtesy of the costumed staff. But that's not all, families can wander among emergency vehicles being showcased in the parking lot, where the officers and public safety staff will be doling out even more goodies. However, it's important to snag a spot early as registration is mandatory and the tickets are expected to sell out, according to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff's headquarters at 5600 Flatiron Parkway in Boulder will transform from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to accommodate the Trunk or Treat extravaganza. Besides munching on goodies, this event also doubles as an educational experience where children can learn about road and traffic safety interactively. It's a rare chance to demystify the roles of local law enforcement and public safety officials, making this more than just your average gathering for Halloween.
