
A fatal shooting occurred in the Bronx last night, resulting in the death of a 33-year-old man outside a smoke shop. According to ABC7NY, the incident took place around 10:30 p.m. in the Soundview section, in front of a business on Westchester Avenue. The unidentified victim was shot in the head and later died at Jacobi Hospital.
Upon responding to the 911 call, officers from the 43rd Precinct discovered ballistic evidence at the scene although no arrests have been made as of this morning. The shooter has been described by authorities as wearing dark clothing, black and red sneakers and a black face mask, he fled east on Westchester Avenue after committing the act, this information was detailed by AMNY. This incident marks the sixth homicide and eighteenth shooting in the precinct so far this year.
Detectives are continuing efforts to locate the masked gunman, and authorities believe the victim was specifically targeted. The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine the motive and identify the individual involved.
