A Bronx man is facing serious charges after allegedly engaging in gunfire incidents that disturbed public peace and endangered lives in two separate events. According to the press release by the Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark, Christopher Gonzalez, 37, has been indicted on a litany of charges, including Attempted Murder, Attempted Manslaughter, and weapons offenses. The Bronx DA's Office, documenting the allegations, says Gonzalez fired shots across a bustling intersection and into an apartment building's door.

Specifically, on April 7, in the early hours, Gonzalez is purported to have unleashed bullets into 726 East 181st Street. Then, on June 7, he allegedly escalated a verbal altercation with gunfire at the corner of East 180th Street and Crotona Avenue, causing bystanders to quickly seek safety, this according to the events detailed in surveillance footage.

Bail for Gonzalez was set at $300,000 in cash or $1,000,000 bond during his indictment. The court has scheduled him to reappear on November 19, to answer to these charges. The DA's press release conveyed, “This defendant shot across a busy intersection, sending people running for cover, and on another occasion he fired through the front door of an apartment building."

Upon his arrest on June 8, Gonzalez was found with a loaded pistol, later confirmed through ballistics to be the weapon used in the June shooting. The case is now being led by Assistant District Attorney Kaseim Tripp of the Financial Frauds Bureau. The collaborative efforts of law enforcement have also been highlighted, with the DA expressing gratitude to NYPD Detectives Mark Ricketts and Pedro Silverio of the 48th Precinct Detective Squad for their roles in the investigation.
