
A Cal Fire employee was arrested after a woman and a boy were shot and killed in Cameron Park. The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to reports of a shooting near Oakwood and Chelsea Roads around 9 p.m. on Thursday. The woman died at the scene, and the boy later died at the hospital, according to CBS News Sacramento.
The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office identified the suspect as 47-year-old Darin McFarlin from Cameron Park, who works for Cal Fire. He was arrested in Mono County just after midnight and is booked on two counts of homicide, held without bail, as reported by FOX40. Authorities have not released the victims’ names or confirmed any relationship between McFarlin and them.
Authorities are investigating an incident in Cameron Park. Another juvenile in the home was found safe, as mentioned by ABC10. The Sheriff's office has not released information on what led to the incident or any possible motive.
