Residents of Carrollton looking to declutter their homes have the perfect opportunity at their doorstep. On September 13, the City of Carrollton is opening its doors, or rather its parking lot, to take in bulk waste from its residents. According to the City of Carrollton, locals can dispose of items like mattresses, broken furniture, and bicycles at no cost.
For those ready to part with the bulky reminders of past projects, the cleanout is set for the hours between 8 a.m. and noon, located at the Rainwater Lane parking lot across from the Carrollton Police Department. However, space in the roll-off containers is on a first-come, first-served basis, so showing up early is advisable. Proof of residence in the form of a valid ID and a City water bill is a must for participation, and it's worth noting, contractors with bulk waste need not apply—this is a residents-only affair.
Items not on the approved list for the clean-out event include those with freon, such as refrigerators and air conditioning units. Similarly, electronics, including cell phones and laptops, won't be accepted at this event. According to the City of Carrollton, residents needing to get rid of these particular items should reach out for a separate collection appointment.
