Chandler residents should note changes to city services for the Labor Day holiday. On Monday, Sept. 1, City administrative offices will be closed, according to the City of Chandler’s website. Trash and recycling collection will not be affected; only Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day alter the schedule..
While most city facilities will close for Labor Day, a few will remain open. The Tumbleweed Recreation Center will operate from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the Chandler Tennis Center at Tumbleweed Park will be open from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. However, all Chandler Public Libraries—the Downtown, Basha, Hamilton, and Sunset branches—along with the Chandler Museum, will be closed for the day, as detailed by the City of Chandler.
Several community facilities will also be closed for Labor Day, including the Senior Center, Nature Center, Snedigar Recreation Center, and the downtown Community Center. The Chandler Center for the Arts box office and gallery, along with the Vision Gallery, will observe an extended closure from Saturday, Aug. 30, through Monday, Sept. 1, the city announced. Pools, however, will remain an option to escape the heat. Arrowhead Pool, Desert Oasis, Hamilton, Mesquite Groves, and Nozomi Aquatic Centers will be open from noon to 5 p.m., though no lap swimming will be offered. Folley Pool has already closed for the season.
For additional inquiries or further clarification regarding the Labor Day schedule, the City of Chandler's Public Information Officer, Jennifer Honea, remains available at 480-782-2228.
