For those looking to get more in tune with their city's offerings, the Good Neighbor 101 program is once again opening its doors to Chandler residents. Starting September 3, the city's Neighborhood Programs Office is offering free educational sessions aimed at informing participants about services, resources, and tools that can make a difference in their homes and community.
The program is structured into four 90-minute classes, each slated to cover a different area of interest. To quickly run them down: the first class on Sept. 3 will focus on Neighborhood Programs. Prepare to be thoroughly enlightened about Economic Development on September 10, while on September 17, line up to deep dive into Parks Maintenance & Operations. Finally, on Sept. 24, participants can expect to learn about Water Quality.
All sessions are scheduled for 4-5:30 p.m. at the ASU Chandler Innovation Center, located at 249 E. Chicago St., Chandler. The program is not only educational; those who at least attend all four sessions are going to be entered into a draw. A lucky tip: one can win $500 for their neighborhood's next G.A.I.N. event – a community-building initiative backed by the city.
If residents wish to take part in this civic opportunity, they must RSVP. One can do this easily online at Good Neighbor 101, or get in touch with the Neighborhood Programs staff at 480-782-4362.
Details for the Good Neighbor 101 program were obtained from a recent update on the city's official website. It's a chance not just to learn, but to connect with the gears and cogs of the very entity that ensures the lights stay on, the parks stay green, and the economic wheels keep rolling.
