Commuters in Charlotte County should prepare for temporary changes to their travel routes next week. An advisory from the county states that Midway Boulevard will have intermittent lane closures for infrastructure work. Lumos Fiber will be installing underground fiber from August 11 through August 14, between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., along the stretch from Eagle Street to Aaron Street, according to the county's announcement.
The Public Works Department in Charlotte County has arranged detour routes to help drivers navigate around the construction area. Officials are advising travelers to allow extra time for their trips to account for the lane closures and traffic changes.
Motorists traveling on Midway Boulevard during this period should carefully follow all posted signs and directions from on-site workers. The county also stresses the importance of staying alert and exercising caution while navigating construction zones.
