For Charlotte County residents in need of development services, a change in operational hours may just make those necessary appointments and inquiries a bit more accessible. Starting next Tuesday, the Charlotte County Community Development Department will be altering their weekly schedule to allow for an earlier start time from Tuesday through Friday, supplementing the community's need for additional time to navigate permits and zoning matters.
As per the details shared by the official Charlotte County website, the doors will now open at 7:30 a.m. from Tuesday to Friday, while Monday's hours begin at the usual 9 a.m. All days will see operations wind down at 4 p.m. During these hours, not just anyone – but the Permitting and Zoning staff will be reachable via the main phone line at 941-743-1201 to provide assistance.
This extension appears to be a response to community feedback requesting more flexible hours to address their development needs. With these new extended hours, residents and developers alike have a larger window to seek the support needed to push through important projects and personal endeavors related to development in Charlotte County.
It is not often that government bodies change their hours, but when they do, it typically signals an effort to better serve the public.
