The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is currently investigating a fatal collision that occurred in the Freedom Division,
According to a report by CMPD, the accident took place on Monday, around 8:22 p.m. where first responders found a motorcycle and its driver, Thomas Pruitt, 64, unresponsive in the 5600 block of Paw Creek Road following a crash involving an SUV.
Pruitt was pronounced dead at the scene by MEDIC, his motorcycle was found lying on its side in the roadway. Nearby, the Chevrolet SUV and its driver were also located.
The CMPD's Major Crash Investigation Unit, along with the DWI Task Force and Crime Scene Search teams, responded to the incident. The SUV's driver was screened for signs of impairment and was found not to be impaired, the results for Mr. Pruitt's toxicology test, are still pending.
