The CHP Golden Gate Division Air Operations played a crucial role in a series of rescues this past weekend, showcasing their efficiency and collaboration with local agencies. In an operation detailed on their official social media channels, a CHP helicopter responded to an emergency call from the Fern Creek Trail on Mt. Tamalpais, where an individual was suffering from heat exhaustion and had lost consciousness.
According to the CHP - Golden Gate Division Air Operations, the aircrew worked in tandem with a Marin County Fire Helicopter Rescue Technician (HRT) and a California State Parks ranger to successfully hoist the patient off the trail for further medical treatment.
Earlier in the day, the same CHP crew had also provided critical assistance in another trail rescue operation in San Mateo County, followed by a medevac for a PG&E employee who had sustained injuries from falling off a power transmission line tower; both patients later received care at local hospitals.
