A 43-year-old Citrus Heights man has been taken into custody on manslaughter charges following a deadly altercation in Folsom last month. Folsom Police Department announced the arrest of Dylan Pierce early this morning, stemming from an incident that claimed the life of an unidentified adult male.
According to the Folsom Police Department's post, Folsom officers and detectives were dispatched on June 28 to a reported medical emergency on the 700 block of Gold Lake Drive, where they found the victim unresponsive. Despite attempted resuscitation, the individual was declared dead at the scene, the events unfurling around 3:40 p.m. during an event at Folsom State Slickers.
The subsequent investigation leveraged video surveillance footage and witness statements to piece together the narrative. Pierce reportedly became embroiled in a physical confrontation on the bar's outdoor patio, a scuffle which resulted in the other man's death. The Folsom Police's investigation led to the identification of Pierce as the primary aggressor, and an arrest warrant was subsequently issued.
Detained outside his home early in the morning, Pierce now faces manslaughter charges and is currently booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail. In their statement, the Folsom Police Department expressed their commitment to "ensuring the safety of our community and holding individuals accountable for acts of violence."
