The City of Henderson is accepting submissions to add more names to its Veterans Memorial Wall. The wall currently honors over 1,900 veterans. Nominations are open for six categories: Korean War Veterans, Deceased Veterans, Vietnam Veterans, Persian Gulf War Veterans, Global War on Terror Veterans, and Veterans Killed in Action. This effort is part of Henderson’s annual Veterans Day Ceremony on November 8, according to the City of Henderson.
Applications must be submitted by September 25. This deadline allows time to review submissions, approve them, and engrave the names. The Henderson Veterans Memorial Wall, located near City Hall, originally had 1,213 names and now includes over 1,900 veterans, as reported by the City of Henderson.
Veterans who lived in Henderson during their service can be added to the city’s Memorial Wall by submitting Form DD214 and proof of residency. Nominations from family or comrades must be submitted before the deadline. New names are added each year at the Veterans Day Ceremony, as stated by the City of Henderson.
