Authorities in Georgia are actively seeking assistance in locating Jeremiah McCleod, a 14-year-old boy from Clayton County, reported missing just after midnight today. McCleod, described as having brown eyes and black hair, and standing 5 feet 1 inch tall, weighing about 100 pounds, was last seen wearing a black hoodie and a blue T-shirt, as per the FOX 5 Atlanta report.
In an effort to more quickly find McCleod, the Clayton County Police Department has issued a statewide Mattie's Call—an emergency alert for missing persons at significant risk due to their age, health, or mental status. Georgia's public safety alert system is now to actively engage an entire network of citizens and law enforcement agencies to aid in the search for McCleod, who has been diagnosed with ODD, ADHD, ADD, and bipolar disorder. Individuals with details on his whereabouts are urged to contact Clayton County Police at 770-477-3747, according to information shared by WJCL.
The last known sighting of the teen was on Attleboro Drive in Jonesboro, as authorities and the community alike continue the search. With his medical conditions publicly shared, the hope is that awareness will encourage increased vigilance and prompt sharing of any potential leads.
The Clayton County Police has not yet provided additional details on whether McCleod might have been seen entering or traveling in a blue pickup truck, as previously mentioned reports purported. The community is reminded that spotting McCleod and immediately reporting to law enforcement could be crucial, given his age and medical conditions, and is essential to help ensure his safe return.
