
Clearwater will implement multiple road closures and detours beginning this week due to ongoing utility and construction projects.
According to the City of Clearwater website, the roadway in front of 1241 Fruitland Ave. will be closed from Monday next week to August 25 for sanitary sewer repairs, with detour signs posted. On 1960 Gulf to Bay, the westbound outside lane will be closed from Monday next week to September 2 for similar work. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue between Court and Cleveland streets will remain closed to northbound traffic through Saturday next week for potable water utility improvements.
Southbound lanes on N Osceola Avenue have merged with the northbound lane just south of Drew Street as of Monday for hotel and rental building construction. On Island Way, median lanes in both directions from Skiff Point to Dory Passage will stay closed until Satuday next week, for iron-cast water main replacement and underground utility work. Flaggers will be present at times to direct traffic.
