North Greenwood's burgeoning craft beer scene welcomed a new player last week with the grand opening of Clearwater Brewing Company. More than 300 people, from city bigwigs to the everyday beer aficionado, came out on August 14 to witness the unveiling of the brewery, a venture that promises to blend local flavor with a refreshingly diverse beverage lineup.
The ceremonial shears were wielded by none other than Clearwater Mayor Bruce Rector, who was flanked by a cadre of local luminaries such as Assistant City Manager Al Battle and Pinellas County Commissioner Chris Latvala; it was a show of support that mirrored the community's enthusiasm for the new establishment, and according to Clearwater CRA, co-owner Rob Menard beamed as he expressed his ambition for the brewery to become a cornerstone for both residents and those just passing through.
The Clearwater CRA's North Greenwood Commercial Grant Program played a significant role in helping establish Clearwater Brewing Company. The program, designed to encourage investment and beautification efforts in the area, provided support that contributed to the brewery’s opening.
"Our brewery aims to be a hub for locals and visitors, offering a rotating selection of craft beers, spirits, and even our specialty root beer," Menard told the gathering in a vision that extends beyond the mere selling of beers—it's about creating a place where the community can gather and thrive, everything is brewed on-site, and Menard added, “we’re proud to open our doors in the city our family calls home." as he spoke to the core ethos of the brewery, according to Clearwater CRA.
Clearwater Brewing Company is now open in North Greenwood, welcoming visitors to sample its craft beers, spirits, and root beer.
