The Clearwater Community Redevelopment Agency highlighted a local business this month, focusing on Consumer Energy Solutions (CES), which has been active in both energy services and community initiatives for more than 25 years. Located at 1255 Cleveland Street in downtown Clearwater, CES has established a strong presence, providing consumer support and engaging with the community. According to the Clearwater CRA, since its founding in 1999, CES has helped over 1.3 million customers access improved electricity and natural gas rates.
Patrick Clouden, the leader of CES, aimed to create more than just a business; he wanted to establish a platform where both employees and the community could find a chance to grow and thrive. The company’s efforts have been acknowledged, as CES has been named a Tampa Bay Top Workplace for eight consecutive years. CES has also taken part in a variety of community initiatives, including drug prevention and education programs. "For us, it’s not just about business—it’s about helping people find and fulfill their purpose," Clouden told the Clearwater CRA.
The company’s support includes educational initiatives like the Community Learning Center, which has expanded significantly over time. This now encompasses a K-8 private school, the Community Learning Center Academy, serving more than 100 students with plans for additional growth. These efforts contribute to the local education system while also reinforcing the broader community in Clearwater.
CES’s philanthropic efforts have been recognized in several ways, including the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Corporate Philanthropy Award. The company emphasizes the principle that business success can include contributing to society.
