Jared Polis at the Colorado Water Congress in Steamboat Springs, this new website serves as a comprehensive hub for all things related to the region's lifeblood, the Colorado River. "I am excited to announce today that we are launching ColoradoRiver.com as the official source for all information on our namesake river," Gov. Polis said, as per the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, emphasizing Colorado's continual role in leading the discussion and management within the river basin.
Not coincidentally debuted during the summer conference that focuses on water issues, ColoradoRiver.com is poised to not only inform but also actively engage its users in the river's storied past and its future challenges. It aims to reshape how decisions are to thoughtfully by reflecting the actual availability of water rather than the relentless pressures of demand. "I’m excited to connect with people across the Basin in ways that help them understand the Colorado River and stay informed on the work to keep it sustainable for generations to come," Becky Mitchell, Colorado’s Commissioner to the Upper Colorado River Commission, told the Colorado Department of Natural Resources.
