The Columbus Division of Police is calling on the community for help in cracking a rash of car burglaries. Last week, an estimated 50 vehicles were compromised in the dead of night, and the culprits are still at large. The break-ins spanned across several neighborhoods along Holt Rd. and Alkire Rd., leaving residents frustrated and looking for answers.
Undisclosed surveillance video captured four individuals, their identities obscured by gloves and masks, as they prowled through vehicles. A dark-colored SUV is believed to be associated with these suspects. The Columbus Division of Police, with a sense of urgency, has taken to social media to spread the word and gather intel. "Detectives are seeking assistance identifying the individuals responsible for a string of car break-ins last week," the post announced.
For those in the community with any knowledge or clues leading to the identification of these suspects, Detective Potter of the Columbus Division is the point of contact. Holding onto hope, the authorities have provided multiple avenues for tips. Detective Potter can be reached at 614-645-1439 or through email at [email protected]. In the spirit of maintaining anonymity, tips can also be funneled through Central Ohio Crime Stoppers via their hotline at 614-461-TIPS (8477).
