According to the National Weather Service, from today onward, Dallas will experience sunny skies, with highs hovering around the mid to upper 90s. The current calm winds will shift, becoming modest southeast breezes as the days progress.
In addition to the heat, an Air Quality Alert has been triggered for the region. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) relayed through the National Weather Service, Fort Worth, that an Ozone Action Day is in effect for today. The notice points out that atmospheric conditions are prime for the generation of high levels of ozone air pollution in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The TCEQ advises residents to mitigate ozone production by carpooling, using bicycles, conserving energy, and maintaining vehicles to reduce emissions.
Evenings offer slight respite, with nightly forecasts predicting mostly clear skies and temperatures dipping into the high 70s. Residents looking for cooler evenings will be disappointed, as the mercury is not expected to fall much below 76 degrees.
