If you're plotting a course to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport anytime soon, brace for detours and delays. Heading into its next construction phase, the airport is enacting major changes to the traffic routes around Terminals A, B, and C. According to DFW International Airport Communication, the International Parkway Project is set to transform Terminal B's access by demolishing the current bridge and building a new route into the terminal's roadways starting the first week of August, as per the City of Arlington.
Travelers should take note of the detours, expected to last around 90 days, with Terminal B accessible only from the south via southbound lanes on International Parkway after August 6. Those journeying north will need to hit a U-turn before the North Exit Plaza to loop back, then veer left for the temporary terminal entrance. Meanwhile, departing passengers from Terminal A, come August 3, will be directed to the North Exit for re-entry onto the parkway. As construction forges ahead, participants in the daily commute ballet at DFW will need to lean heavily on signage crafted to usher them through the temporary chaos.
Amid the multitude of orange cones and caution tape, airport officials are implementing a battle plan for the coming logistics dance. Travelers are urged to arrive early for flights—two hours in advance for domestic, and three hours for international—and are encouraged to stay informed. The airport's mobile app promises to be a digital sherpa through these disruptive times, offering real-time parking, security wait times, and construction alerts.
