Last night, the quiet usually prevailing along East Broadway was shattered by an act of domestic violence. According to the Long Beach Police Department's Blotter, a stabbing occurred in the 200 block of East Broadway at around midnight on August 21. The authorities, called to the scene, found a male victim with stab wounds to the upper body, non-life-threatening, but urgent enough to warrant a trip to the hospital.
The LBPD Blotter update indicates that the Long Beach Fire Department personnel were responsible for transporting the injured man to a local hospital, where he is presumably receiving medical attention. The report doesn’t provide any details on the victim's current condition or identity, beyond classifying the person as a "male adult victim."
In the follow-up to the incident, officers successfully tracked down and detained a suspect. The LBPD identified the accused assailant as a female adult, who was taken into custody without further incident. The motivation behind the stabbing and the relationship between the victim and suspect are yet to be disclosed, but the LBPD is treating the situation as a domestic violence case.
The LBPD has revealed that their investigation into the matter is ongoing and is likely piecing together the events that led up to the stabbing.
