A tragic incident occurred in Kingfisher County this past weekend where a 12-year-old from Dover was killed in an off-roading vehicle accident, as reported by multiple sources. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol informed OKC FOX that the accident involved a Polaris off-road vehicle carrying four juveniles, with the driver being another 12-year-old, the vehicle lost control and rolled onto its side about 1 mile south of Dover.
The situation escalated when the driver performed a maneuver spinning the vehicle in a "donut," in a result of which it tipped, trapping one of the passengers under the roll bar leading to fatal consequences, "the passenger was pronounced dead at the scene," detailed a statement obtained by News 9. Investigations into the specifics of the incident continue, with authorities noting the absence of safety measures as none of the juveniles were reportedly wearing helmets or seatbelts.
Another passenger sustained injuries during the crash, however, the details regarding the extent of these injuries have not yet been publicized as reported by KOCO. The identities of the juveniles have not been released, but families involved have been notified as police and emergency services attended to the tragic event that unfolded on private property.
