
A two-vehicle crash in Dunedin is currently under investigation by deputies with the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT). This incident, involving a head-on collision that induced a rollover and resulted in serious injuries, has led to the arrest of one driver on multiple charges including DUI, as reported by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, 42-year-old Jared Tiso was executing a turn in his 2022 Dodge Ram southbound on Belcher Road when he struck a northbound 2022 Lexus LX. The accident took place on Sunday, at approximately 9:24 p.m., near the intersection with Winchester Drive. The Lexus was being driven by 61-year-old George Haddad, who, along with his 55-year-old passenger Hayam Haddad, was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled over due to the impact.
Responders transported both George and Hayam Haddad to the hospital with life-threatening injuries post-accident. The specifics regarding their current medical condition have not been provided, as per the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators assessing the scene determined that Tiso exhibited signs of impairment. He was said to have performed poorly on the Field Sobriety Tests conducted subsequently. These findings led to Tiso's arrest, and he now faces two counts of Driving Under the Influence Causing Serious Bodily Injury and one count of Driving Under the Influence. Following the charges, Tiso was transported to the Pinellas County Jail.
