The City of Durham has resumed its regular utility billing schedule and procedures as of Wednesday last week, following the closure of its previous billing provider in May. Residents will now receive mailed bills as before, while e-billing customers will get electronic notifications.

According to the City of Durham, penalties for late payments and water shutoffs for overdue accounts have also resumed. Customers in need of assistance can contact Durham One Call or apply to the online Water Hardship Fund.

Payments can be made online, by phone, in person at City Hall or the Water Management’s Mist Lake Facility, or by mailing a check or money order.

The Water Management Department continues to oversee the city’s water supply, treatment, and wastewater services. For updates, residents can follow the department’s Facebook page.
