Raleigh police have arrested a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting outside Patio Nightclub earlier this month. The incident left one man dead and another injured with non-life-threatening wounds. On Friday last week, 19-year-old Jonathan David Bonilla-Ramos of Durham was charged with murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. He is being held without bond in the Wake County jail, according to The News & Observer.
The shooting occurred in the early morning of August 9 near the Beacon Plaza shopping center. Officers responded at approximately 3:34 a.m. to the 3900 block of New Bern Avenue, as Spectacular Magazine reported. Bonilla-Ramos' booking photo was released, but few additional details about the incident or victims have been provided.
The deceased was identified as 24-year-old Christian Mercado, described in an obituary as a Carrboro High School graduate who enjoyed cooking and baseball, according to coverage by abc11.
