The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has recently made strides in digital inclusivity by debuting a new official website. Aiming to efficiently serve the residents of the Pikes Peak region, the website boasts enhanced content, optimized access to information and services, and conformity with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. The initiative represents a structured move towards making county law enforcement resources more easily available to all citizens, including individuals with disabilities.

In what was seemingly a cross-sector collaboration, the Sheriff's Office joined hands with The Independence Center to review the website before its launch, in order to ensure it was easily navigable and accessible. According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Joseph Roybal was poised to declare the website live, citing the new site as an easy way "to learn about our Office, look up information about individuals in our custody, and stay informed about crime trends, emergency messaging, and community outreach."

Speaking on the collaborative effort, Indy Frazee, CEO of The Independence Center, lauded the Sheriff's Office for their dedication to accessibility and inclusion. Frazee told the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, "We’re proud to have partnered with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office to support their commitment to accessibility." She continued to express gratitude for the partnership, which aligned with The IC's mission to facilitate access to needed information and resources for everyone, irrespective of their abilities.

The new website, which lives at www.epcsheriff.com, aims to be a one-stop hub not just for learning about the Sheriff's Office but also for staying up-to-date with local crime trends and community efforts. El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Information Technology and Community Affairs Units were credited by Sheriff Roybal for having worked diligently to ensure the smooth launch, as well as the preservation of information, and, most significantly, the ease of access for all citizens, including those with disabilities.
