Residents should plan to adjust their travel routes as tree removal operations necessitate road closures in parts of the city tomorrow. The City of Elyria has announced that tomorrow, a section of West Ave, specifically the stretch between Holly Ln and Barres Ln, will be closed from early morning to the evening. Additionally, 4th Street will see closures between West Ave and Middle Ave, blocking through traffic, according to an announcement by the city's official Facebook page.
The closures, slated to last from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, are to allow safe removal of trees with the aid of a crane. Residents living on 4th Street will need to temporarily adjust their access, as they will be able to reach their homes via Middle Ave. For those living on West Ave, the city has advised that they should follow directions from on-site workers. While local traffic will be accommodated, extensive delays are to be predicted.
The city authorities have warned of potential long traffic delays and recommend using Middle Ave as an alternate route. This is seen as a preemptive action to mitigate the traffic congestion expected due to the roadblocks.
