Early this morning, a tragic accident occurred on State Route 113 in Lorain County, resulting in the death of a pedestrian. According to a report by Cleveland19 News, the incident took place around 4:30 a.m., just west of Quarry Road, in South Amherst. The Ohio State Highway Patrol has identified the victim as 28-year-old Brandon McKenna from Elyria.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol revealed that McKenna was walking eastbound on the westbound side of the road before attempting to cross into the eastbound lanes, where he was struck by a Ford Explorer and a Honda Civic. Following the incident, officials closed the road in both directions between Baumhart and Quarry Roads. This disrupted traffic for several hours, according to a WKYC report.
McKenna was declared dead at the scene of the accident.
