As the Pickerington Local Schools system gears up for a fresh academic year, a new wave of administrators is stepping up to the plate. The district, known for its emphasis on inclusive education and community engagement, is bolstering its leadership roster with the addition of several seasoned professionals to its team. Among the latest recruits is Lindsey Hanes, who will be taking on the role of Assistant Principal at Toll Gate Elementary.
Hanes, known for her comprehensive approach to education, is no stranger to the challenges and triumphs of guiding young minds. Her career, marked by a variety of administrative positions, has been characterized by dedication to students of all abilities. According to PLSD's announcement, Hanes served most recently as principal of Forest Rose School, where she catered to students with developmental disabilities. She's not just a leader but also a bridge, connecting the educational service center to the everyday classroom, her work as the 504/Help Me Grow Coordinator for the district in 2022–2023 is a testament to that.
Before her latest appointment, Lindsey Hanes was actively involved in managing consortium classrooms, addressing the needs of students with a range of disabilities and emotional disturbances across Fairfield County. Her origins in the field, however, lie in an eight-year tenure as an Intervention Specialist with Berne Union Local Schools.
With credentials that include a PK–12 Principal License and a K–12 Intervention Specialist License, Hanes's academic background is just as substantial as her professional one. An Ohio University alumna, she further honed her skills with a Master's degree from Concordia University. "I look forward to building strong, meaningful relationships with the talented staff, awesome students, and dedicated parents at Toll Gate Elementary. Go Gators!" Hanes expressed, embracing her new role with enthusiasm, according to PLSD.
