A tragic collision on New Town Boulevard has claimed the life of a 74-year-old driver, prompting a Baltimore County investigation. According to an official statement from the Baltimore County Police Department, Patricia Cook was pronounced deceased at the scene after a two-vehicle crash last Saturday morning.
Baltimore County officers and paramedics who responded to the crash site at approximately 11:20 a.m. found Cook trapped inside her 2019 Honda Fit. The preliminary investigation suggests that the other vehicle, driven by an unlicensed 16-year-old, was traveling northbound at a potentially high speed and struck the Honda as it was attempting to make a left turn onto New Town Boulevard. The teenager involved in the collision initially fled on foot, only to return later with a family member.
This incident has prompted the Baltimore County Police Department’s Crash Team to continue to thoroughly investigate the circumstances of the crash.
