Tragedy struck on State Highway 23 in the town of Plymouth, Sheboygan County, where a two-vehicle crash resulted in the death of one individual and injuries to two others. The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the incident occurred Friday afternoon, on the first of August, around 3:45 p.m., at the intersection with Pleasant View Road. FOX6 reported the collision involved a vehicle making a turn and failing to yield to oncoming traffic.
The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, as WBAY detailed, responded to the scene shortly before 4 p.m. Their preliminary findings indicated that an 82-year-old woman from Sheboygan was driving a westbound car when she attempted to turn south and collided with an eastbound vehicle, driven by a 45-year-old Sheboygan man. The older driver's failure to yield was noted as the primary cause of the incident.
The crash had fatal consequences for an 80-year-old man, now identified as Stephen Gould from Elkhart Lake, who was a passenger in the westbound vehicle. According to information obtained by CBS58, Gould was transported to the hospital with severe injuries but sadly passed away. The driver of the vehicle he was in, also from Elkhart Lake, sustained serious injuries but is expected to survive, while the driver of the eastbound vehicle suffered minor injuries.
