A person was fatally struck by a Metrolink train in Irwindale on Sunday, officials have confirmed. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the incident near Irwindale Avenue and Edna Place at approximately 4:20 p.m., where the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, as reported by KTLA.

Video of the aftermath showed deputies from the L.A. County Sheriff's Department investigating the tracks cordoned off with yellow crime scene tape and while the details of how the collision happened remain scarce, it is clear that the investigation by the California Highway Patrol is in full swing and commuters were warned of heavy traffic due to road closures, as per KTLA.
