
An altercation at a convenience store in Bacliff, Galveston County, early this morning resulted in the fatal shooting of a man. According to ABC13, the incident occurred at Meera Food n Meat Supermarket on Grand Avenue, where a verbal dispute escalated quickly into physical violence and a shooting.
Officials from the Galveston County Sheriff's Office were called to the scene at approximately 1:30 a.m. The store, in the vicinity of a sheriff's substation, allowed deputies to quickly respond to the situation. "Deputies, when they arrived, they arrived pretty quickly because we have a substation right here," Chief Deputy Melencio Villarreal said, as reported by ABC13.
The confrontation, involving two male customers, took place inside the store. While it remains unclear what the argument was specifically about, the situation heated up until one man drew a gun and shot the other in the chest. Although other customers were present, there were no additional injuries reported.
The individual accused of the shooting was apprehended by deputies on site. While charges were pending at the time of reporting, authorities are proceeding with their investigation to thoroughly determine the appropriate charges," as per a report by Click2Houston.
