
Early this morning, a fatal crash occurred on Crosstimbers Street in Houston. Houston police reported that at around 5 a.m., a man was involved in a single-vehicle accident. His name has not yet been released, pending notification of relatives and confirmation by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
According to the City of Houston news release, police stated the man was driving a black Chevrolet Malibu when the vehicle went out of control while traveling westbound. The car struck a metro sign, a crosswalk sign, and then a tree before stopping. The man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Officers found him outside the vehicle and in need of medical attention.
The Houston Fire Department transported him to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The HPD Vehicular Crimes Division, led by Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer J. Campbell, is investigating the incident.
No other vehicles or individuals were involved in the crash.
